The New Mexico Environment Department’s Occupational Health and Safety Bureau announced May 30 that it would extend the adoption timeline for its proposed heat illness and injury rule.
The proposed rule would require employers to implement an increasingly higher rest-to-work ratio for employees, starting at 15 minutes of paid rest for every 45 minutes of work in 95-degree heat.
